This dream scene is set on the flat expanses of sand at low tide at the head of Strangford lough. Riders have exercised horses here since I can remember, right back into my early childhood. I imagine that this was also the case in ancient times.
The high tide mark is indicated by the point where the horses legs metamorphose into trees.
Folk memory, personal experience and visionary imagination collude to suggest this poetic study of time and tide.
