Biography

Liam O’Neill is among Ireland’s foremost contemporary artists.

Born in Corcha Dhuibhne, West Kerry, Ireland his paintings depict the west coast, it’s harbours, musicians, horse fairs, fishermen and famous figures he meets every day there. O'Neill paints that which makes Corca Dhuibhne unique, Mount Brandon, Cuas, Dúinín, the Three Sisters, Dunmore Head and The Blasket Islands.

The new expressionist style of Liam O’Neill focuses directly on capturing the energetic frenzy of his home in West Kerry and its people. Inspiration for his work stems from his native place, its community and the daily happenings and events therein.

Liam O’Neill is a native Irish speaker and paints his father's way of life. His father and both grandfathers were all fishermen. They fished the Atlantic off the West Coast of Kerry.
