Biography

Amelia García Escoda has developed a distinctive painting practice centred on the relationship between nature, memory, and identity. Since beginning her artistic career in 2006, she has explored two recurring themes: Oceans and Valleys & Landscapes.

For Amelia, the sea is far more than a subject—it is a metaphor for the inner self. Through expressive gestures, layered textures, and organic forms, each painting becomes an intimate exploration of emotion, leaving traces that reflect both personal experience and a profound connection with the natural world. Her work also serves as a quiet call to value and protect our oceans and marine life.

Her landscape series draws inspiration from the Sierra de Atapuerca, her Mediterranean roots, and the Campo Charro region, exploring memory, belonging, and the places that shape identity.

Amelia García Escoda has exhibited internationally, including in Madrid, Luxembourg, Milan, and Miami. Based in Burgos, she continues to create works that invite contemplation, offering landscapes that are ultimately reflections of the self.
