Born in 1954. Sandra was educated in Newry, Dundalk and Glengara Park, Co Dublin.
She moulds and develops a remarkable variety of simple linear patterns and flowing shapes, which are then cast in bronze, using the “Lost Wax method”. The work portrays a number of different qualities - elegance, grace, femininity and sensuality.
Sandra draws inspiration from many different influences - Celtic, Classical, African, yet her work has a uniqueness that is her own. Works are based on the human form abstracting it to eliminate detail so that only the essential essence of the figure remains. Sandra portrays not the flesh, but the spirit and grace of humanity in bronze.
Sandra has her work in many of Ireland’s best known institutions such as Bank Of Ireland, Unilever PLC, KPMG, Cork County Council and IKEI Panasonic to name but a few and she has undertaken commissions from such groups and people as Roman Abramovic (Chelsea FC Owner), Shannon Airport, Dublin Corporation and Greenmount College.
