Leo Higgins was born in Dublin in 1951. He is a founder member of the Sculptors’ Society of Ireland and he is the director of Cast Foundry in Dublin, he also is a part time lecturer at N.C.A.D.
A self- taught sculptor, Leo won the Oireachtas prize for Sculpture in 1984 and again in 1985. Leo specialises in bronze sculptures. He has exhibited in many solo and group exhibitions across Ireland since 1978. These include Oireachtas, Aer Rianta "Gateway to Art" at Dublin Airport and the RHA.
Over the years Leo has won a number of awards for his sculptures and his work is included in many collections such as the Bank of Ireland, AIB, Irish Life, Institute of Chartered Accountants, to name but a few.
